Buwan ng Wika: The Aetas Performed Cultural Dances at Zoobic Safari

August 29, 2020 0 Comments
August is National Language Month or Buwan ng Wika and while I was cleaning up my trusty old hard drive, I found this video that I captured years ago, the video is about the Aeta's who performed their cultural dances at Zoobic Safari in Subic, Zambales. So, I edited the video and posted it on my YouTube Channel because it is so timely for the Buwan Ng Wika.

The cultural dances that the Aetas performed in this video are the "Sayaw ng Unggoy" (Dance of the Monkey), and "Sayaw ng Pagbabayani". I wasn't able to captured the first dance which was "Sayaw ng Tutubi" (Dance of the Dragonfly) because they have already started when we arrived at the Aeta's Trail.

It was a fun learning experience for us because it's actually my first time to see the Aeta  Tribes (indigenous people) who are one of the earliest inhabitants in our country, Philippines

I would also like to share my daughter's artwork which is her entry in their school's Buwan Ng Wika Poster Making Contest. She loves art and this is her first time to make a poster.

Mama Miah's Travel Diaries - Tinuy-an Falls

June 24, 2020 0 Comments
My family and I went to Bislig in Surigao del Sur and we visited the majestic Tinuy-an Falls! I've been wanting to go here and I was glad we visited this place before this pandemic happened.

I think the travel time from Davao City to Surigao del Sur is around 7 to 8 hours, this is just my estimation because I have fallen asleep most of the time during our trip. I have motion sickness and I prefer to just sleep it off or else I might throw up. Hahaha.

Anyways, when we reached Tinuy-an Falls, the place is already jam-packed with visitors from different places especially during summer. It's quite hard to take photo and video of the falls without capturing the people from behind. But I managed to do so by going really near the falls. (LOL)

So, here's a short video of our trip that I made and uploaded on YouTube.

With my mom, aunt and my daughter.

By the way, Tinuy-an Falls is a NO SMOKING area, so it is prohibited to smoke and also sell cigarettes there. So be careful...
These are just a few of the souvenirs that I have captured. We only bought a few keychains and ref magnets for souvenirs. The locals are also selling pure honeys, so we were also able to buy some and brought it home. :)

After we went here, we had lunch and visited the International Doll House which is also located in Bislig, Surigao del Sur before we went back to Davao City.
